Safety

Blockfest is the largest event organised at Ratina area. Please prepare for lines and longer wait-times at the entrances and the gigs of the biggest artists. We recommend you arrive well before the showtime of your favourite artist!

In addition to hundreds of Blockfest’s security officers, the area is patrolled by Red Cross staff, police, and other rescue authorities. Personnel specialised in mental health, substance abuse, and sexual assault can be found inside the festival area to support all festival guests. The support staff is wearing light blue vests with the text “Miten menee?” written in the back of the vests.

SAFETY INFO

  • Please follow the instructions given by the event organisers, presenters or security officers.
  • Take care of yourself and your friends. Agree on a meeting place if you get separated.
  • Be sure to drink water throughout the event. You can fill your water bottle at designated water points within the festival area. These are marked in the festival area map. One empty, up to 0.5 L transparent bottle (no glass) can be brought to the festival area.
  • Respect the privacy of the residents in the surrounding areas of the Ratina Stadium. Do not go into or near any yards without permission.
  • Please take care of the festival area and the environment. Use the bins provided and separate all recyclables.
  • Dress according to the weather and bring warm clothes with you. Please be mindful, the temperature may drop toward the evening.
  • Large crowds are expected, especially during the headliners’ gigs. Please do not push or shove other festival guests while moving in the crowd.
  • If you get stuck in a large crowd and do not feel comfortable, try to stay as calm as possible. Ask for help from the people closest to you. Please note, both crowd surfing and piggybacking are prohibited.
  • Please do not climb on any fences or other structures. With this kind of activity, you endanger not only yourself, but also other festival guests
  • Be sure to protect your hearing. Earplugs can be bought in the area.
  • Blockfest’s security officers have the right to remove any customer from the festival area, who are under the influence or misbehaving. As a result, wristbands may be removed at a security officer’s discretion. In such a case, Blockfest is not obliged to reimburse the customer for the price of the ticket.

SECURITY CHECK

A security check will take place at all entrance gates. Security officers make the final decision on whether an object is a safety risk in the festival area. Prohibited items are removed at the time of the security check. Blockfest has zero tolerance for violating the safety rules. The security officers have the right to refuse entry to the festival area if safety rules are violated. In such a case, Blockfest is not obliged to reimburse the customer for the price of the ticket.

Please carry your entrance ticket and a valid ID with you throughout the event for age limit control!

Valid identification documents that are accepted:

  • Identity card
  • Driver’s license
  • Passport

NOTE! There are videographers and photographers in the festival area who shoot videos for marketing purposes.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • SLR cameras, camcorders, sound recorders and selfie sticks (only accredited photographers may bring these)
  • Pets (with the exception of official guide dogs)
  • Umbrellas
  • Cans, bottles, jars
  • Alcoholic beverages, drugs, e-cigarette liquids
  • Camping chairs
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and electric mopedss
  • Radiotelephones
  • Firearms, blades, knives, sharp rivet belts, hairspray bottles and other aerosols, and any other dangerous objects
  • Multipurpose tools
  • Drones
  • Other dangerous objects and/or substances to harm people or property

PERMITTED:

  • Mobile phone, a small automatic camera or a GoPro
  • Small snacks (candy, biscuits, fruit)
  • Empty, up to 0.5 L transparent bottle (no glass)
  • Prescription medication or other medical aids to. Please ensure to bring the prescription or other certificate with you.
  • Sunscreen – a 50ml unopened container of suncream
  • Raincoat or a disposable raincoat. Please note, umbrellas are not permitted.
  • Powerbank
  • Hand sanitizer – max 100ml

CROWD SURFING

If you get stuck in a large crowd and do not feel comfortable, try to stay as calm as possible. Ask for help from the people closest to you. Please note, both crowd surfing and piggybacking are prohibited.

FIRST-AID

Please check the location of Blockfest’s first-aid point prior to arriving to the festival area. The first-aid point is shown in the area map, which is updated closer to the event.

WATER

One empty, up to 0.5 L transparent bottle (no glass) can be brought to the festival area. You can fill your water bottle at designated water points within the festival area. These are marked in the festival area map.

Be sure to drink enough water throughout the event.💧

MENTAL SAFETY

Personnel specialised in mental health, substance abuse, and sexual assault can be found inside the festival area throughout the whole event to support all festival guests. The personnel represent for example Pirkanmaa Mental Health Association’s Better Mind project, the City of Tampere’s Outreach Department, and Setlementti Tampere Ry’s Forward! Youth project. The support staff is wearing light blue vests with the text “Miten menee?” written in the back of the vests.

EARPLUGS

Be sure to protect your hearing! Earplugs can be bought in the area.

SMOKING

Smoking is permitted in the designated smoking areas within the festival area. Precise locations will be updated closer to the event.

HAPPEE-AREA

HAPPEE area is a quieter place for those who want a moment of peace and a break from the festival hustle and bustle. The HAPPEE area is located on Ratina beach road, near the Street Stage. A bar is located in the HAPPEE area where you can buy also non-alcoholic drinks.

HARASSMENT CONTACT

A specific telephone service is available for you if you experience distressing or inappropriate behaviour during the festival. All calls and other contacts are handled confidentially and if required, anonymously. Phone number will be updated closer to the event.

HEALTH SAFETY

If required by government guidelines or other official instructions, a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test, a certificate of full vaccination series, or a certificate of recovery may be required from all festival guests.
