The Blockfest Festival Area

Blockfest takes place in the naturally beautiful Ratinanniemi area and the Ratina Stadium in Tampere. The event site is located right in the heart of Tampere with excellent public transport connections, making it easy to reach from anywhere in Finland. Blockfest encourages festival-goers to use public transport or bicycles when arriving. We also recommend arriving well in advance and allowing extra time for arrival, as large events may involve queues at security and ticket checkpoints.

Please also remember to respect local residents and the city of Tampere by avoiding littering. ❤️

TICKET INFORMATION

1- and 2-day basic tickets (PDF, mobile, physical) are not exchanged for a wristband; instead, they are scanned at the gate. With a basic ticket, you can enter the festival area only once per day.
Exceptions are Plus, Flex, and Exclusive tickets, which must be exchanged for a wristband that allows re-entry before arriving at the event.


NOTE: Please keep your ticket safe for the entire duration of the event. If you have tickets for multiple people, distribute them to the correct persons before arriving at the area.

ENTRANCES

There are three entrances to the festival, divided by ticket type:

  • RATINA = All ticket types
  • LAUKONTORI = All ticket types, plus wristbands for customers with assistants
  • EXCLUSIVE & FLEX = Only for Exclusive and Flex ticket holders

TRANSPORTATION


Here are some tips for arriving via different means of transportation:

Bus
Tampere’s bus station is just a few hundred meters’ walk from the event area. Check the route on Google Maps.

Train
Arriving by VR train is quick and easy from nearly anywhere in Finland. VR will offer additional late-night trains from Tampere to Helsinki on both festival nights:

  • Sat 16.8. IC 628 at 1:15–3:06 Tpe–Hki
  • Sun 17.8. IC 628 at 1:15–3:06 Tpe–Hki

Tampere railway station is about 700 meters from the festival area—a roughly 5-minute walk. Check walking directions on Google Maps.

Local Transport
Tampere’s regional transit system, Nysse, operates local buses and the Tampere tram. Tickets can be easily purchased via the mobile app. Visit Nysse’s website for more information on schedules, routes, and ticket prices.

Car
There is no designated festival parking area near the event. You can check available parking spaces in downtown Tampere on the city’s official website.

Taxi
You can reach Taksi Tampere at 0100 4131 or via their mobile app. Download the app and register for free before the festival weekend to order taxis easily. Accessible taxis (invataksi) in Tampere can be reached at 0100 4531.

BICYCLE & E-SCOOTER PARKING
The festival has a dedicated bike and e-scooter parking area located at Sorin aukio. Please note that storing your bike is at your own risk.

FLIGHTS
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is about 15 km from the festival area. Public transportation is available to the city center.

ACCESSIBILITY

All entrances are wheelchair-accessible and have asphalt surfaces, but we recommend that customers needing an assistant arrive via the Laukontori entrance.

Wristbands for customers who require assistance and their companions (2 Days Plus, Flex, and Exclusive) are distributed at the wristband exchange points. The companion must be present both during wristband exchange and when entering through the gates.

If a customer who requires assistance has purchased a basicticket, the companion may enter with the same ticket. In this case, the companion must be present at the gate when the ticket is scanned. Both individuals may enter only once.

Proof of the need for assistance may be required, such as a disability card, companion card, or other official documentation.

ACCOMMODATION

Blockfest takes place in the very center of Tampere, so we do not offer a campsite. There is a wide variety of hotels in Tampere. Accommodations for the festival weekend fill up early in the year. The closest campsite is in Härmälä, Tampere. We recommend booking accommodation early, as prices tend to be at their highest during Blockfest weekend.
