Safe Space Principles

We all have the power to create a safe, comfortable, enjoyable, and friendly atmosphere at the festival. Respecting others is essential for us at Blockfest. All festival visitors have to be able to trust that each individual’s personal space, both physical and mental, are respected. We do not tolerate discrimination, violence, harassment, or any other aggressive behavior.

All festival visitors must adhere to the safe space principles. Please be aware, the festival staff has the right to remove any festival visitors, who do not follow the safe space principles, from the festival area. Blockfest is not responsible to refund tickets in such instances.

Being friendly is cool! We have zero tolerance for any discrimination, violence, harassment, or any other aggressive behavior. You do not need to explain yourself to justify your presence. Let’s value and respect each other where ever we are, not just the festival area, but in life in general. If you witness inappropriate behavior, say something. Let’s look after one another✌🏼

There are no excuses for poor behavior. Together we can create an unforgettable festival. Let’s go!

You, and all other festival guests, have the freedom to be yourselves and attend Blockfest with no fear of discrimination, violence, harassment, or any other aggressive behavior.

If you encounter any poor behavior, both physical or mental, during the festival weekend, please let the safety officials, first-aid personnel, or other support staff know. The support staff is wearing light blue vests with the text “Miten menee?” written in the back of the vests. “Miten menee?” support staff can also be found at the first aid station and in the HAPPEE area.

During the festival, a designated Harassment Contact Person is available by phone. Please reach out to the Harassment Contact Person in you encounter inappropriate behavior at the festival. The Harrassment Contact Person helps by listening, discussing, and by giving instructions and advice on where to get further help if needed, even after the festival. All contacts are treated confidentially, and if required, anonymously.

Come on, absolutely not! Blockfest does not tolerate any forms of violence.

Instead of physical violence, let go of your negative emotions in the form of a rap battle.

Personnel specialized in mental health, substance abuse, and sexual assault can be found inside the festival area throughout the whole event to support all festival guests. The personnel represent for example Pirkanmaa Mental Health Association’s Better Mind project, the City of Tampere’s Outreach Department, and Setlementti Tampere Ry’s Forward! Youth project.
